Health update below for those interested! Feel free to skip this post if not, no worries 🥰 SO, I have some big news! The past 4 years I've been actively treating my illness, I've been focusing on Lyme disease. In my labs I recently had done, they noticed I tested positive for something called Babesia, and a very rare and difficult strain of it. It's something you also get from ticks and about 30% of people with Lyme have it. My doctor says it's similar to malaria but much, much worse and 1000x more resistant to treatments. Babesia is treated with anti-malarials which is something I had not tried up until this point. If babesia is the main thing causing problems for me and I've never actually treated it, it makes sense why I haven't gotten better. I feel like after 5 years of being sick, I'm finally figuring out what is truly wrong with me so I can actually get better. I've already been in contact with doctors across the country who have successfully treated this particular strain so I am hopeful. I started a new med called Mepron a few days ago and it's making me feel crappy but its tolerable 😊 aside from the fact that it tastes like paint 😂 Thank you all for being here, truly ❤️ and if you've read all of this, thank you again. Sometimes I feel silly posting things like this on here because it's not really what the platform is for, but you guys are such a huge part of my life that I want to keep you in the loop. Plus, some of you have been with me on this journey since the very beginning which is wild to think about. I look forward to coming on here someday soon and telling you all that I am 100% symptom free and in remission.
